Job Description

A reputable civils infrastructure contractor is seeking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its team due to a significant increase in workload. They specialize in the construction of water, wastewater treatment, and general utility infrastructure works, with plans to expand into other civil engineering sectors in the future.

The Position

This role will be commercially involved in a portfolio of water projects within the Devon area, with project values typically ranging from £1m to £10m.

Reporting to the Senior QS, key responsibilities will include:

  1. Reviewing new or varied items and checking quotations of new rates and conditions.
  2. Maintaining the timely submission of applications and final accounts.
  3. Assisting with reviewing and commenting on tender documentation during the tender period.
  4. Internal reporting and forecasting.
  5. Assisting with subcontract management, including negotiation and preparation of sub-contract orders.
  6. Preparing and negotiating claims in conjunction with the senior management team.
  7. Vetting final accounts and preparing final account reports.
The Individual

If you are a QS or perhaps an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to join a great team and help grow the region, this opportunity could be for you.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Civil Engineering Qualification (Degree or Equivalent)
  • Experience in delivering similar-sized contracts
  • Experience in the water industry is desirable but not essential
