Job description

A steel fabrication company based in Hertfordshire is looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with solid experience in the steel manufacturing industry.

Salary: £65,000 + Holiday/Sickness Pay
Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Work Setup: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed quotations and costings based on incoming project enquiries
  • Conduct site visits when required to assess technical specifications and resolve queries
  • Ensure accuracy of materials, quantities, and pricing in all quotations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to gather required data for cost estimation
  • Play a key role in overall project pricing and tender submissions

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a QS or Estimator within the steel manufacturing or structural steel sector
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and market rates
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and project teams
