Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor Estimator Apprentice to join our team at Guildmore!

Apprenticeship Summary

What will the apprentice be doing?

1. Assisting the Senior Estimator with checking and acknowledging bid documents and amendments.
2. Developing a full set of documents based on Sub-contract tender returns and/or own measures with rates applied, alongside Senior Estimators.
3. Analyzing plans, bills of quantities, and other project documentation to estimate costs.
4. Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors with guidance from Senior Estimators.
5. Attending mid and post-tender meetings with clients and subcontractors alongside Senior Estimators.
6. Developing risk analysis of the information provided or not provided by the client.
7. Reviewing and ascertaining costs related to logistics and timeframes with help from senior team members.
8. Visiting project sites to gather information and prelims costs alongside colleagues.
9. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Head of Design, and Head of Operations.
10. Completing the Form of Tender and tender letter with any qualifications, and conducting contract sum analysis or scheduling if necessary.
11. Assisting with preparing information packages for handover to the construction team if successful, attending handover meetings, and briefing the team on the tender bid.

Training will be conducted online at Guildmore's head office.

Further progression may be available in other areas within our sector upon successful completion of this apprenticeship.

Annual Wage

£15,704 to £25,396.80 per year
