Your new role

Our client is seeking a confident and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team at their Liverpool office. This dual-role position is crucial in supporting the delivery of complex and bespoke manufactured solutions for high-security and performance-critical environments. You will be involved in project cost planning, estimation, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.



Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for bespoke door and barrier projects

  • Liaising with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure project requirements are fully understood and costed

  • Producing and managing bills of quantities, tender documents, and procurement schedules

  • Conducting risk and value management assessments

  • Analysing subcontractor quotations and negotiating contract terms

  • Managing interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts

  • Monitoring project budgets and advising on any potential cost implications

  • Supporting the commercial team in pricing variations and managing change control

  • Maintaining detailed documentation and records of all commercial activities

  • Attending pre-tender and project review meetings with internal and external stakeholders



What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator within the construction, manufacturing, or specialist fabrication sectors

  • Strong understanding of commercial processes, cost control, and contract management

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Causeway, or similar)

  • HNC/HND or degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline

  • A proactive and team-oriented approach
