Job summary

Headley Professional Recruitment Ltd in Hull is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator for an established interior fit-out contractor working on commercial and retail projects across the UK. The role covers estimating and surveying, managing commercial aspects from inception to completion, and liaising with clients and suppliers on fast-paced retail schemes.

You will own projects, prepare payment applications, run CVR and forecast returns, and collaborate with the delivery team to identify risk

We're recruiting a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator for our client in Hull. The client is an interior fit out contractor who specialize in commercial and retail projects across the UK. They have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track fit out projects across the sector for some leading clients such as Sephora, Costa, Waterstones, EE, Pandora and Hamleys.

Job details:

Estimating & quantity surveying for a well established interior fit out main contractor. Working for blue chip clients on high profile contracts, responsible for all aspects of project commercials for the duration of the project from inception to completion. Predominantly working in fast paced retail environments, speaking and leasing with direct and existing suppliers as well as going to market, forming new supplier relationships and achieving best value. Managing commercial and supplier lead in risk from the project get go, being a good communicator, comfortable speaking in and chairing meetings are important qualities for this role.

The Estimator / Quantity Surveyor will own their projects and run the commercials. This involves estimating, then into surveying and managing commercials through to final account. You will manage payment applications and preparing them for invoicing, run CVR reports and forecast project returns, report to account and commercial managers. The Estimator/Quantity Surveyors are team players as well as working independently, they will work alongside the project delivery team to identify risk, contribute to programming and in some instance leading a design team.

Some role highlights as follows:

• Preparing and submitting tenders be it within existing client accounts or new opportunities
• Review drawings and specifications, liaising with contractors and suppliers
• Work closely with internal design teams, track and report on project commercial risks
• Manage your own diary, work independently and flexibly
• Be a team player, contribute to problem solving and offer support to trainee members of the team
