Gleeds Data Centres is recruiting ambitious and innovative Quantity Surveyors to join one of the fastest growing sectors reshaping the construction industry.

In this role, you’ll work on high profile projects that directly impact the future of data infrastructure. You’ll gain exposure to diverse working environments and broaden your professional network through opportunities for global travel and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Management of contracts from inception (pre-contract support e.g., tender evaluation) to completion (post-contract support)
  • Operating with NEC form of Contract such as Option A, B, C and E as well as bespoke forms of contract
  • Leading client engagement to ensure delivery to specification and budget, while identifying contract improvements
  • Stakeholder engagement across a portfolio of projects
  • Issuing and reviewing early warning notices
  • Pricing and assessing compensation events
  • Develop and maintain cost accrual and forecast reports
  • Report to senior managers on cost data, progress, and assumptions with clarity and impact
  • Managing contractor and subcontractor accounts
  • Updating risk registers and reviewing programmes
  • Issuing payment certificates and valuation assessments
  • Mentoring junior team members
What we are looking for in our next Quantity Surveyor
  • Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management; experience in regulated environments such as Data Centres, Life sciences, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear, Infrastructure or Petrochemical sectors is essential
  • Broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Procurement, Supply Chain, Cost and Commercial Management – ideally both pre and post contract
  • Experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite of contracts
  • Ideally HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar; or applicants with an alternative background (e.g., Engineering) may be considered
  • Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable
  • Personal and communication skills, ambition, drive and energy are important for success
