Job summary

Manpower United Kingdom is assisting a growing South West Scotland construction company in recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. The role focuses on driving profitability through accurate cost control, budgeting, and commercial reporting from inception to completion.

You will support the commercial management of projects, monitor costs, track budgets, and provide insights to guide project decisions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of cost control and commercial management principles.
• Ability to analyse and interpret financial and cost data.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and sound judgement when supporting project decisions.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs across multiple construction projects.
• Track expenditure against agreed budgets and forecasts.
• Review cost information and provide commercial insights to support decision-making.
• Identify, investigate and report cost variances.
• Assist with the financial management and performance of projects.
• Support the commercial team in maintaining profitability and maximising project value.
• Prepare regular cost reports and provide updates to key stakeholders.
• Ensure commercial activities are carried out in line with company procedures and project requirements.
