We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Civil Engineering Cost Estimator and Planner with previous industry experience in a similar surveying role, a thorough understanding of financial reporting processes, excellent time management, and negotiation skills.

Working as the Quantity Surveyor / Civil Engineering Cost Estimator and Planner, you will join a well-established company, nearing their 30-year anniversary, offering a comprehensive range of services to the water, rail, and civil engineering industries across the UK & Ireland.

Your responsibilities will include identifying commercial risks and providing appropriate solutions, negotiating and settling client and subcontract final accounts.

DUTIES

• Monitoring material and labour spend against budget
• Compiling monthly cost value reports
• Conducting comprehensive cost estimation and preparing accurate cost plans
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and risk management
• Maintaining positive monthly cash flow
• Identifying commercial risks and providing solutions
• Negotiating and settling client and subcontract final accounts
• Preparing valuations and payment applications with supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
• Closing out financial accounts and releasing retentions
• Submitting and agreeing on extension of time, loss, and expense claims

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Civil Engineering industry experience
• NEC experience is an advantage
• Previous experience as Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
• MRICS Chartered Member (preferred)
• Thorough understanding of financial reporting processes
• Excellent time management and negotiation skills
• High accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient IT skills, especially MS Excel
