About

Overall Objective

To provide effective commercial management of contracts within the relevant sector, ensuring financial performance is optimised and contractual obligations are fulfilled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
  • Procure subcontractors in line with programme targets and company policies, including competency checks, recommendations, pre-order meetings, order placement, and warranties
  • Administer subcontractor contracts, including managing progress meetings, delay assessments, variations, dayworks, clean-up notices, damages, material waste, defects, and issuing relevant notifications
  • Assess and process subcontractor applications and payments promptly and accurately, including issuing payment notices and applying contra charges where appropriate
  • Agree final accounts with subcontractors
  • Measure works from drawings and on site
  • Evaluate variations and provisional sums accurately and in a timely manner, with ongoing monitoring
  • Manage weekly payments for direct labour and plant subcontractors
  • Maintain control over material costs
  • Produce accurate internal valuations, subcontract liabilities, and cost value reconciliations in accordance with commercial reporting deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Manager and project delivery team to monitor progress and its impact on margins, including the preparation of joint monthly preliminaries budgets
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality records are kept throughout the project
  • Identify and notify of delays in coordination with the Quantity Surveying line manager
  • Prepare take-offs and bills of quantities for the estimating department to support tender submissions
