Your new company

Our client, an established and privately owned civil engineering contractor based in Coventry, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their business. This multi-accredited contractor specialises in delivering tailored civil engineering solutions across the water and utilities industries for local authorities and high-profile Tier 1 contractors appointed on the Severn Trent Water framework. They offer excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development, and due to continued success, they are growing their commercial team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Coventry office.

Your new role

As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
2. Analysing and managing commercial risks
3. Interpreting client requirements and supporting feasibility studies
4. Reviewing tender documents and assessing costs
5. Allocating work to subcontractors and coordinating with site teams
6. Preparing interim valuations and managing cost reporting
7. Monitoring budgets and arranging subcontractor payments
8. Negotiating final accounts and conducting site visits
9. Ensuring contract compliance and maintaining accurate documentation

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you must have:

• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar field) or equivalent experience
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Civil Engineering industry, ideally within the water and/or utilities sectors
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
• Sound organisational and interpersonal skills
• Full UK driving licence
