About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with expertise in carpentry to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and financial aspects of carpentry projects, ensuring efficiency and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry processes, cost estimation, and commercial management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee cost management and procurement strategies for carpentry projects.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering exercises.
  • Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Monitor project expenditures and provide financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on carpentry projects.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry materials, methods, and installation processes.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and contract administration.
  • Experience with standard construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC, FIDIC).
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Membership in RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body is preferred.
