The role covers prompt Applications for Payments, Final Accounts, and Monthly Cost/Value reconciliations, with responsibility for Sub-contract procurement and cost control. You will work as part of a team, requiring a Degree level qualification and 3–5 years’ contracting experience, plus advanced Excel and strong communication skills to support estimating and

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in a contracting environment.
• Commercial experience within the engineering/manufacturing sector is preferred.
• Excellent IT skills with advance Excel proficiency.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Prompt presentation of all Applications for Payments and contractual entitlements.
• Submit Estimate/Tender information to clients in a timely manner.
• Present Final Accounts promptly.
• Prepare Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
• Procure, negotiate and place Sub-contract Orders.
• Manage Sub-contractors financially through to Final Accounts.
• Ensure notices and information meet contract requirements.
• Prepare documentation for variations, claims, and additional payments.
• Provide commercial support to management, Estimating and Procurement teams.
• Liaise with clients on commercial matters and provide supporting information.

Role:

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the commercial & financial management and profitable performance of our portfolio of works.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

The key tasks of this role include but are not limited to:

• Prompt presentation of all Applications for Payments, including all contractual entitlements.
• Prompt submission of Estimate / Tendering information to the client.
• Prompt presentation of Final Accounts.
• Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
• Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract Orders.
• Financial and Commercial Management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.
• Ensuring that all notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.
• Commercial support to the management team.
• Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams.
• Liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information.

Requirements / Criteria:

Candidates for this role must be effective team players and should meet the following criteria:

• Be qualified to Degree level or equivalent
• Hold a degree of experience (+3-5 years)
• Hold previous Commercial experience within a contracting environment
• Preferably hold previous experience of working within the engineering/manufacturing sector
• Be IT literate in Microsoft Office applications, be an advance user of Excel.
• To possess good communication skills
