A leading UK construction firm is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Witham, Essex. The successful candidate will manage cost and contractual control on a £100m+ MOD project. This permanent, full-time role offers flexible hours and involves working on various new build and refurbishment assets. Ideal applicants will have a background in construction, proficiency in Excel, and experience with NEC contracts, although MOD experience is not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Experience from a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience on large schemes in construction.
  • Familiarity with NEC form of contract.
  • MOD project experience is ideal but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contractual control and cost management across projects.
  • Involvement in the full project lifecycle from pre-construction to delivery.
  • Manage commercial aspects of subcontract accounts and final account negotiations.

We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team based in Witham, Essex. The project you will be working on is a large £100m+ MOD project in Suffolk (near Ipswich) and will commence pre construction activities in site based offices later this year.

Location: Witham, Essex. The project location is Suffolk (near Ipswich)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time with flexible hours available

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial team. The project is £100m+ but is split into 14 separate assets. Some are new build, others arerefurbishment or repurposing and you will be responsible for 1 or a number of these.

Your day to day will include:

  • Working alongside the project delivery team, you will ensure the contractual control and cost management of projects across different sectors.
  • Having exposure to the full project lifecycle with involvement across pre-construction through to project delivery
  • You will manage the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement and be involved with the final account negotiation to ensure the best possible outcome.

What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you have:

  • Ideally you will have experience from a similar role within the construction industry
  • You'll be proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience on working on large schemes within the construction industry
  • NEC form of contract experience
  • MOD project experience would be ideal but is not necessary
