Job summary

Salutem Care & Education is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost and commercial management across growth and capital projects. You will establish robust commercial controls from opportunity appraisal through final account, giving senior leaders confidence costs and risks are well managed.

The role is hybrid with regional work and national travel, full-time and permanent. MRICS qualification and experience in regulated settings are highly valued.

About the role We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost and commercial management across Salutem's growth and capital projects. You'll set up strong commercial controls covering everything from opportunity appraisal through to final account, giving senior leaders confidence that investment decisions are based on reliable costs and clear risks. This is a chance to shape a brand-new commercial function from the ground up while staying hands-on with priority projects.

What you'll do

Qualifications

Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent professional standing, with a relevant degree

• Confident challenging senior stakeholders and leading negotiations

Desirable

• Client-side experience in a growing multi-site organisation
• Strong JCT experience and exposure to dispute avoidance or resolution
• Additional qualifications in construction law, project management or commercial leadership

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead cost and commercial management across Salutem's growth and capital projects. The postholder will establish robust commercial controls from opportunity appraisal through procurement, construction, final account and benefits review, giving senior leaders confidence that investment decisions are based on reliable costs, clear risks and disciplined change control.

Alongside direct project delivery, the role will set standards for estimating, tendering, reporting, contract strategy and supplier performance; provide commercial challenges on high-value or complex schemes; and develop the wider project team's commercial capability.

Salary: £60,000 - £68,000 | Location: Hybrid / Regional, with national travel as required | Contract: Full-time, Permanent, Experience in care, SEND education, healthcare or another regulated setting
