Job summary

Bimplus is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for our Winchester office. The role covers pre- and post-contract services across a broad portfolio, requiring strong cost planning and client relationship skills.

You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, supporting graduates and more senior surveyors while developing long-term consultancy expertise in the commercial, residential, and public sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy.
• Experience delivering pre- and post-contract services.
• Strong cost planning and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Confident in managing client relationships and working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline; MRICS advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across diverse projects.
• Prepare cost plans, feasibility studies and budget estimates.
• Advise on procurement strategies and contract selection.
• Prepare tender documents and manage competitive tenders.
• Analyse tender returns and prepare tender reports.
• Administer JCT and NEC contracts through delivery.
• Prepare interim valuations, cost reports and forecasts.
• Manage variations, change control and commercial risk.
• Negotiate final accounts and provide value engineering advice.
• Attend client, contractor and design-team meetings.
• Develop strong client relationships and support junior surveyors.

The Opportunity

A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Winchester office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their consultancy career within a supportive and collaborative environment. The role is suited to candidates from intermediate level through to those approaching Senior or Associate level, offering exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, industrial and public sectors.

You’ll provide professional cost consultancy services throughout the entire project lifecycle, working closely with clients, design teams and contractors to deliver successful outcomes while developing long-term client relationships.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

• Delivering pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services across a wide range of construction projects
• Preparing cost plans, feasibility studies and budget estimates
• Advising clients on procurement strategies and contract selection
• Preparing tender documentation and managing competitive tender processes
• Analysing tender returns and preparing tender reports
• Administering JCT and NEC contracts throughout project delivery
• Preparing interim valuations, cost reports and financial forecasts
• Managing project variations, change control and commercial risk
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Providing value engineering advice to achieve the best commercial outcomes
• Attending client, contractor and design team meetings
• Managing multiple commissions simultaneously while maintaining excellent client service
• Supporting graduate and assistant surveyors where appropriate
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships

About You

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy
• Experience delivering both pre and post-contract services
• Good understanding of JCT contracts, with NEC knowledge advantageous
• Strong cost planning and financial reporting skills
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Confident managing client relationships and working within multidisciplinary teams
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Working towards, or already holding, MRICS accreditation would be advantageous
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence
