Our Company is looking for an experienced and qualified Quantity Surveyor to join the team working on projects in the South and South East of England.

Requirements:

  • QS/commercial experience in the construction industry

Job Purpose

The Commercial support role is accountable to the Commercial Officer for managing and coordinating procurement events and the delivery of the works costing function (QS). This includes pricing contracted works, forecasting, monitoring value and costs to maximize financial performance, and driving efficiency to ensure cost-effective utilization of assets, supporting the achievement of financial targets.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Produce timely and accurate tender/procurement submissions.
  2. Maintain the costs/rates database, analyze inflationary risks, and work with the Commercial Officer on pricing renegotiations for delayed projects.
  3. Compile work package summaries for upcoming contract periods for review by the Commercial Officer and Board of Directors.
  4. Create Microsoft project plans and execution statements for tenders to support business efficiency.
  5. Monitor due diligence and awarded works trackers, liaising with relevant teams to optimize awards.
  6. Forecast and monitor depot financial performance.
  7. Produce project CVRs for reporting to management.
  8. Collaborate with the Commercial Officer on value management and cost control initiatives.
  9. Assess valuations/payment documents, manage disputes, and resolve inaccuracies.
  10. Prepare and record quotes/invoices, negotiating alongside the Assistant Commercial Officer.
  11. Maintain project cost and revenue data, supporting project managers in cost control.
  12. Track team payments and productivity, producing regular reports for management review.
  13. Monitor contractual changes and update pricing for variations.
  14. Participate in weekly planning and performance meetings to identify cost implications and productivity gaps.
  15. Promote a diverse and inclusive working environment.

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time, 45 hours per week

Location: Westerham, Erith, with travel to other depots and sites, including Head Office in Winfrith and Wimborne depot
