Senior Quantity Surveyor (Interim)
Location: North West Leicestershire
Rate: £34.86 – £37.35 per hour (Umbrella)

A Local Authority in North West Leicestershire is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Housing Asset Management Team on an interim basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the cost control, financial planning, and delivery of vital repairs and investment works to the Council’s housing stock.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the coordination and management of cost control processes for housing repairs and investment programmes.
- Ensure compliance with the Council’s financial regulations and standing orders.
- Monitor and manage budgets for both internal teams and external contractors.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, residents, and stakeholders.
- Chair contract meetings and resolve issues efficiently to maintain project momentum.
- Assist in the procurement of new contracts alongside the Housing Procurement Officer.
- Prepare business cases, financial reports, and valuation summaries to inform decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and value for money.

Requirements

- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- Experience working within social housing quantity surveying.
- Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and control project budgets.
- Skilled in contractor management, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
- Proven experience in producing financial reports and appraisals.
- Confident in managing competing priorities while maintaining quality and compliance.
