Job description

Quantity Surveyor

Location: Doncaster (with national travel and hybrid working opportunities)
Salary: Up to GBP50,000 per annum (DOE) + car allowance, bonus scheme, laptop, mobile phone
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Holiday: 28 days inclusive of bank holidays + additional days for long service + paid festive closure

The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client s dynamic Major Contracts team. This is an exciting role working across a wide range of commercial, leisure, and hospitality projects of varying scale and complexity.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs and profitability from inception to completion. The role involves working closely with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring financial efficiency while fostering strong professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site visits and take accurate client briefings, including check measures.

  • Take off drawings and prepare Bills of Quantities/Scope of Works.

  • Manage subcontract and supplier procurement, including detailed analysis and contract preparation.

  • Maintain procurement trackers and produce contract documentation.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including negotiation and variation management.

  • Monitor and report on project costs, profitability, CVRs, and waste gaps.

  • Handle invoicing, reconciliation, and final account preparation.

  • Deliver full project tenders when required.

  • Ensure accurate use of company systems and documentation, including the Concorde Project Portal and Egnyte.

Candidate Requirements
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a construction-based Quantity Surveying role.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and general IT systems.

  • Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and time management.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Full UK driving license.

  • Positive, proactive team player with a can-do attitude.
