Job Description

Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor OR Quantity Surveyor

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Position Type: Full Time

Pay: 35,000 - 65,000 + Package

Looking to grow your QS career in a company that values personality as much as professionalism? We’re supporting a developing contractor based in Stoke-on-Trent, who are looking to bring an adaptable and enthusiastic Assistant QS or Quantity Surveyor into their growing commercial team.

This is a full time, office based role with flexibility on start/finish times and regular site visits. You’ll be joining a relaxed, friendly, and sociable business delivering exciting and varied build projects across the Midlands and beyond.

About the Role:

Working closely with an experienced and supportive commercial team, you’ll be involved across a diverse project portfolio including:

  • A new high street retail unit
  • A multi storey storage facility
  • Trade counter and builders’ merchant schemes

You’ll gain hands on exposure across the full construction lifecycle, backed by strong internal systems and processes.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Managing and tracking costs across live projects
  • Assisting with procurement and subcontract packages
  • Working from drawings to complete measures
  • Attending sites to monitor progress and valuations
  • Supporting with client reporting and day to day commercial duties

What We’re Looking For:

We’re after someone reliable, personable, and open-minded ideally with build, industrial, or steelwork experience. This would suit someone looking for a more engaging workplace where they can grow, develop, and be themselves.

Experience under JCT or bespoke contracts would be beneficial. Being based near Stoke-on-Trent is due to the nature of the work.

What’s On Offer:

  • Competitive Salary
  • 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + 5 Bonus Days (1 Per Year of Service)
  • Car Allowance and Fuel Card
  • Annual Christmas Bonus
  • Flexi-Working Hours (e.g. 7–3 or 8–4)
  • Support with Formal QS Qualifications
  • Friendly, Open Plan Office Environment
  • Strong Client Base with Steady Growth and Repeat Business
  • Regular Team Socials including Days, Tournaments, and Seasonal Parties

With turnover growing year on year and a strong pipeline of repeat clients across the UK, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact in a commercial team that values balance, progression, and personality.
