Job summary

Infocus Resources is recruiting for a commercial professional to join the KierBAM project in Plymouth (Royal Navy site). You will provide commercial input, forecast financial performance, and maximise cash flow while ensuring timely payments and monthly cost reporting.

The ideal candidate will be professionally qualified or a quantity surveying graduate, with NEC Contracts experience, Coins/Causeway systems, and strong IT skills. A full UK driving licence and degree-level education are essential.

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified operator or graduate in Quantity Surveying.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with NEC Contracts.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial input including forecasts to management.
• Manage cash flow, ensure timely payments.
• Prepare and review monthly cost reports.
• Forecast spend against Client budgets.
• Measure works and agree with client/subcontractors.
• Certify and pay subcontractor accounts.
• Monitor contract change control procedures.
• Manage subcontractors including quotes, orders, payments.
• Assess commercial/contract risks and apply policy.
• Maintain strong client-facing communication.

Job description

Location: Plymouth (Lodge Allowence provided)

Project Overview: KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth

Eligibility criteria: Many positions within the project are subject to national security clearance restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI s are met / exceeded.


• Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are made and received on time.


• Preparation and review of monthly cost reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members


• Forecasting and monitoring spend against approved Client budgets.


• Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors.


• Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecasts.


• Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including communications to client as appropriate.


• Managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment


• To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk management.


• Client facing role so good communication skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will have :

• Professionally qualified operator and/or Graduate Qualifications - Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Related (HNC, BSc, MSc)


• CSCS White PQP/AQP


• Fully converse and experience of NEC Contracts


• Experience with the use of CEMAR desired but not essential


• Experience working with Coins / Causeway accounting systems.


• Team player and working with a highly skilled diverse team.


• Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence


• Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience.


• Experience within a similar role


• Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office in particular Excel


• Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally.


• Must be an excellent organiser with proven time management skills.
