Job summary

Aureos Energy is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team supporting UK-based energy projects. You will manage commercial delivery, cost control, and reporting from award through to project closeout, including CVRs, forecasts and sub-contract management.

Working with project teams across site and office locations, you will build robust commercial records, review contracts, and drive value through accurate financial performance reports and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

  • Degree or professional qualification in quantity surveying or equivalent.
  • Experience in contracting commercial environment, preferably energy.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage change control, cost forecasting and CVR reporting.
  • Knowledge of contracts and subcontract administration.

Responsibilities

  • Maximise income through sound commercial advice and decision making.
  • Manage change control system and project risk.
  • Produce CVRs, costs and forecasts, and cost to complete reviews.
  • Manage full subcontract cycle and review contracts.
  • Provide general commercial advice to Project Team and support monthly financial reporting.

They should be capable of managing all commercial aspects of a project from award to project closeoutDutiesPrimary tasks and duties:Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will require you to:* Maximisation of income through sound advice and decision making* Management and execution of the change control system* Management of project risk* Production of CVRs* Produce accurate costs and forecasts* Management of the full sub-contract cycle* Competently review and administer contracts* Provision of general commercial advice to Project Team* Input into the development of team spirit and trustworthiness within Project Commercial Team and with Client and S/C* Input into the management of dispute resolution* Produce weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.* Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements* Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries.* Attend project progress meetings.* Challenge project team and provide valuable contribution to the project.* Good understanding of works scope and programme* Preparation of monthly financial performance reports* Gain experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within the business.* Develop a collaborative working relationship with the client’s and subcontractor commercial leads and wider project teamSecondary tasks and duties:We operate a team ethos across the Energy Business Unit and strive to assist colleagues in the execution of their duties where this is appropriate and brings added value.
