We are hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of utility and civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can ensure cost control, contract compliance, and strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations
  2. Oversee subcontractor accounts, including valuations and variations
  3. Administer contracts and ensure compliance with best practices
  4. Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and reconciliations
  5. Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
  6. Negotiate and agree on final accounts with clients and subcontractors
  7. Support tender preparation and contract claims
  8. Work closely with project managers and finance teams to meet financial objectives
Key Requirements:
  1. Experience in utilities, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors
  2. Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or similar contracts
  3. Proficiency in cost reporting and commercial management
  4. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  5. Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
  1. Experience with major utility providers or tier 1 contractors
  2. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry standards
