Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Merthyr Tydfil seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor for their project management team. Responsibilities include managing financial estimates, supporting project management with cost reporting, and ensuring compliance with contracts. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience and a degree in Quantity Surveying. This role offers a salary of £50,000 to £60,000 and requires travel across Wales. Hybrid working is not available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction or infrastructure sector.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to construction sites across Wales.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage monthly cost forecasts, budgets, and financial estimates.
• Support the Project Management team with accurate cost reporting and financial analysis.
• Administer and manage NEC ECC contracts.
• Monitor contract compliance, variations, and early warnings.
• Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors for accurate cost data.
• Undertake site visits to review progress and validate valuations.

They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their project management team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage monthly cost forecasts, budgets, and financial estimates for live and upcoming schemes
• Support the Project Management team with accurate cost reporting and financial analysis
• Administer and manage NEC ECC contracts (primarily Options A and E)
• Monitor contract compliance, variations, compensation events, and early warnings
• Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate cost data
• Undertake site visits across Wales to review progress, validate valuations, and identify commercial risks

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience working with NEC ECC contracts (Options A, E essential)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction or infrastructure sector
• Strong understanding of forecasting, cost management, and commercial reporting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to construction sites across Wales
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Experience in water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors
• Member of RICS or working toward chartership
