Quantity Surveyor Position - Newcastle

Our client is a leading EPC company seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join an exciting project based in the Newcastle area. To be successful in this role, you should have experience as an on-site Quantity Surveyor and be able to commute to the site 5 days a week. The ideal candidate must:

  • Confirm quantities for progress and invoice verification of payments to construction contractors.
  • Coordinate and schedule measurement activities with construction management.
  • Prepare and maintain complete and accurate field measurement notes, including numerical calculations, basis of calculations, and assumptions/background.
  • Support the contract administrator in establishing Request for Contract Action (RCA) or Project Cost Alerts (PCA) when required.
  • Review construction contractor’s proposals for contract changes for accuracy and quantity basis, validating against the current contract with the contract administrator.
  • Assist in evaluating change requests and interface with the contract administrator for the initiation and development of contract change documents.
  • Support discussions and negotiations with contractors on (counter) estimates and contract change requests where required.
  • Assist in providing input to the home office for contract cost forecast developments as needed.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Contracts, Construction, and UPT management on evaluation of potential changes, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with other Project Controls staff on aspects of (potential) changes and assist in compiling historical data and key quantity analysis.
  • Monitor CMSI Project Cost Alerts (PCA’s) and changes for commitments and forecasting purposes.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a relevant QS qualification.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a similar position.
