Role: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Leicester

Offer: £50,000 to £55,000 + company car or car allowance + bonus + contributory pension scheme + life cover + healthcare benefits + great career prospects

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main residential developer in Leicester reporting to the Commercial Manager. The primary purpose of the Quantity Surveyor role is to manage all commercial and financial aspects of assigned projects and contracts to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and in line with legal and quality assurance requirements. The opportunity also promises excellent career prospects with no glass ceilings to your own development and a competitive salary & package.

As a Quantity Surveyor, some of your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  1. Contributing to the management of legal and contractual issues to ensure profitability while adhering to company guidelines.
  2. Conducting studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs, ensuring costs are established and controlled to keep projects on track.
  3. Appointing and retaining subcontractors, including sourcing and negotiating contracts, to ensure the necessary resources are in place.
  4. Managing subcontractor performance to ensure projects meet quality standards, stay within budget, and are completed on time.
  5. Collaborating with other departments to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
  6. Producing accurate valuation reports and management information to support informed business decisions.
  7. Promoting health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Quantity Surveyors considering applying will need the following experience:

  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with substantial experience within the house building industry.
  2. Solid understanding of HSE building regulations and legal requirements.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  5. Familiarity with balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and business plans.
  6. Experience with COINs.
  7. Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying.
