Job summary

Taylor Wimpey plc is seeking a commercially focused professional to support procurement, commercial and contractual aspects of the BU. You will interface with site teams, subcontractors and partners to drive tender recommendations, WIP, cashflows and final accounts, while ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and NHBC standards.

The role involves regular site visits, attendance at meetings and maintaining accurate reporting across JV schemes, with opportunities for career development

Qualifications

• IT literacy and familiarity with construction software.
• Experience with procurement, tendering and subcontractor management.
• Knowledge of building regulations and NHBC standards.

Responsibilities

• Tendering and procurement of sub contracts in line with site programmes.
• Monitor and evaluate contractor performance and take action as needed.
• Manage subcontractors involved in the commercial function.
• Ensure accurate commercial reporting for JV schemes.
• Be aware of changes in legislation affecting building regulations.
• Attend prestart and design meetings and other required meetings.
• Undertake regular site visits and reporting.
• Carry out other duties as required by the Commercial Manager.

Job description

Our regional commercial teams are integral to the successful delivery of every Taylor Wimpey project. This role is an opportunity to become part of a dynamic team assisting with procurement, commercial and contractual aspects of the BU. The role entails interfacing with all staff involved in the project including, but not limited to, BUMT, site teams, subcontractors, external suppliers and JV / Development partners., Commercial reporting of projects within the region including benchmarking, land viabilities, tender recommendations, WIP, cashflows, valuations, final accounts and VIM process.

• Tendering and procurement of sub contracts in accordance with the programme for each site.
• Monitoring and evaluation of Contractor performance and take any appropriate action.
• Management of subcontractors involved in the commercial function.
• Ensuring accurate commercial reporting of Joint Venture schemes.
• Ensuring awareness of continuing product development in light of changes in legislation i.e. building regulations etc
• Attending prestart meetings, design meetings and any other relevant meeting as required
• Undertaking regular site visits
• Any other duties as required by the Commercial Manager
• Good knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC and Health and Safety requirements.
• Industry related business qualification.
• Manage internal and external clients.
• IT literate (COINS system preferred).
