Job summary

MCR Property Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial leadership on allocated projects, ensuring delivery within budget and programme. You will report to the Construction Director and Commercial Director, coordinating with a team of PMs and QSs.

Role is primarily office based with site visits as needed. You will manage cost plans, estimates, measurements for BOQs, tendering and procurement, and produce monthly financial reports for project governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of QS experience on a range of projects and values.
• Experience in pre and post contract administration including cost plans, estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering & procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations and final accounts.
• Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures.
• Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systems.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial expertise and ensure financial delivery of assigned projects to budget and programme.
• Run monthly reports, costings, contract/sub-contract packages and variations; manage related data with the team.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and report to senior management on financial performance.
• Support procurement and cost control to ensure projects are delivered within budget.

Job description

You will be working with a development team based in London covering the South of England, working between the office and sites typically within 50 miles of the M25 around London. Your place of work would be split between the office and site depending on where you reside.

MCR Property Group are a national real estate investment and development company with offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. The focus of MCR is residential and industrial new build and asset management of existing assets, currently with a pipeline of approximately 7000 residential plots and a commercial / industrial portfolio with a value in excess of £2bn.

MCR plans to expand significantly within the coming few years and is seeking motivated people with construction experience to grow with us.

Position

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial expertise and support / be responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme.

You will be reporting to the Construction Director, Commercial Director and directly to the board, running monthly reports, costings, contract / sub-contract packages and variations. There will be a team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors working alongside you on these projects. Primarily office based with site visits for meetings and valuations dependent on your level and location.

Essential Criteria

• Strong understanding of the sub contract procurement process
• Minimum 3 years' QS experience working on a range of projects and values
• Have worked for a developer, main contractor or sub-contractor
• Experience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans, estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering & procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations and final accounts
• Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures
• Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systems
• Computer literate - excel/word/etc.
• Hold a full clean driving licence
