Job summary

TGS International Group in London is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of data centre projects. You will manage project costs, protect margins and ensure contractual obligations are met.

Working with project managers, commercial managers, planners and operations teams, you will provide commercial support throughout the project lifecycle, covering cost control, variations, forecasting, risk identification and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Proven Quantity Surveying experience in a project delivery or construction environment.
• Experience on hyperscale data centre projects is desirable.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project costs and performance against budget, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Manage variations and changes to scope, including quotations, claims and supporting documentation. Support monthly valuations, cost reporting, forecasting and cost/value reconciliation.
• Administer contracts and subcontracts in line with contractual requirements.
• Review and interpret contract terms and support the management of claims and variations.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with Commercial, Finance, Legal, Design & Engineering and Operations teams.
• Support the development and consistent application of commercial processes and best practice.
• Assist with supplier negotiations and other commercial activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and wider commercial projects.

Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre Projects

Location: London

Employment Type: Full-time

An established international technical engineering and construction organisation is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of complex, high-profile projects within the data centre sector.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in managing project costs, protecting margins and ensuring contractual obligations are met.

Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Planners and Operations teams, you will provide commercial support throughout the project lifecycle, covering cost control, variations, forecasting, risk identification and contract administration.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on hyperscale data centre projects, strong commercial and contractual knowledge, and the ability to build effective relationships across project teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven Quantity Surveying experience within a project delivery or construction environment.
• Ideally, experience working on hyperscale data centre projects.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience with JCT, NEC, FIDIC or other standard forms of contract.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities and develop practical solutions.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills across clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Experience with structured cabling and hyperscale data centre technologies is desirable.
