Job summary

Eden Scott, on behalf of a growing contractor in North Lanarkshire, seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial aspects for utilities projects up to £20m. You will work with the operations team to protect performance, manage risk, and maintain key client relationships.

Quantity Surveyor | North Lanarkshire

An experienced Quantity Surveyor is required to join the commercial team of a successful and growing contractor based on the East side of Glasgow.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of utilities projects valued up to £20m. Working closely with the operational team, you will help protect project performance, manage commercial risk and maintain strong relationships with key clients. You will also support and mentor graduate and trainee Quantity Surveyors, contributing to the continued development of the commercial team.

The position has been created following sustained company growth, underpinned by consistent project delivery, repeat business and long‑term positions on major frameworks across Scotland. With a strong pipeline of work and further growth planned, this is an opportunity to join the business at an important stage in its development.

You will have at least three years’ commercial experience and the confidence to operate in a fast‑paced contracting environment. Previous experience within utilities or civil engineering and with NEC contracts would be beneficial but is not essential. More important is your ability to work collaboratively with operational teams, build credible client relationships and take a proactive approach to commercial challenges.
