Job description

Salary (DOE) + Car/Company car + Package

I am currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a well-established Main Contractor based in the North East area. These roles will cover a number of buoyant civils sectors including highways/public realm and utilities. The roles also offer hybrid working, providing flexibility alongside a significant platform.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Preparation of Interim Valuations and Final Accounts
2. Procurement of sub-contractors in line with target programme and company policy, including assessments of competency, recommendations, orders, warranties
3. Contract administration of sub-contracts
4. Timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors' applications
5. Final account agreement of sub-contract accounts
6. Measurement of quantities on site and from drawings
7. Evaluation and monitoring of variations/provisional sums expenditure
8. Weekly payments to direct labour & plant subcontractors
9. Production of internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities, and cost value reconciliations
10. Collaboration with the Site Manager and delivery team to monitor progress and margins
11. Maintaining accurate records
12. Delay identification and notification in conjunction with the Quantity Surveying line manager
13. Preparation of bills of quantities for estimating and tendering
14. Focus on accuracy and improving profit margins

The ideal candidate:

1. Experience owning projects in civils/infrastructure sectors (water, highways, roads preferred)
2. Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying
3. Extensive understanding or experience with NEC contracts
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
5. Ability to produce accurate work within deadlines
6. Proactive attitude with a "can do" approach
7. Punctual and reliable
