We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team based at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth.

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Responsibilities

We're seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our major projects team at Devonport, supporting the redevelopment of 10 docks at Devonport Dockyard.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Managing commercial resources (finance) of assigned projects or sections to maximize planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.
  • Providing commercial expertise to contracts, including the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring, and contract/workstream performance data.
  • Assessing, reviewing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks, and implementing Kier Group policies for risk management.
  • Supporting the authorization and submission of project variations, and authorizing the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material, and plant orders.
  • Maximizing cash flow through control, measurement (including quality), and valuation of work, invoicing customers, and payment of suppliers, including valuing work executed by sub-contractors and certifying interim and final payments.
