Job summary

Brand Access Solutions by BrandSafway (formerly Lyndon SGB) is seeking a full-time Quantity Surveyor based on-site in Dalry to manage project costs from estimates to final accounts. You will prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), track costs, and support cost planning and forecasting for access solutions projects.

You will generate cost reports, monitor variations, and work with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to provide accurate financial information.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in cost management and cost planning to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience with cost control, cost reporting, and commercial reporting.
• Expertise in BOQ preparation and measurement for tendering and valuation processes.
• Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in construction or infrastructure projects with contracts, procurement, and commercial practices.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; proficient in MS Office and cost management tools.
• Good communication and on-site stakeholder engagement skills; working on-site in Dalry.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Dalry. The Quantity Surveyor will manage project costs from initial estimates to final account, ensuring value for money while maintaining quality and compliance with contractual obligations. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tracking and controlling project costs, and supporting cost planning and forecasting for access solutions projects. The role involves producing regular cost reports, monitoring variations, and liaising with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to provide accurate financial information and advice. The Quantity Surveyor will also assist in tender preparation, contract administration, and contribute to continuous improvement of cost management practices within the organization.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Management and Cost Planning to support accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making across projects.


• Candidates should possess skills in Cost Control and Cost Reporting to monitor expenditure, manage variations, and produce clear, timely commercial reports.


• Candidates should possess expertise in BOQ preparation and measurement to develop accurate Bills of Quantities and support tendering and valuation processes.


• Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.


• Experience in construction, infrastructure, or access solutions projects, with a solid understanding of contracts, procurement, and commercial practices.


• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office and industry-standard cost management tools.


• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site and manage multiple priorities.


• Professional membership or working toward membership of a recognized body (e.g., RICS or equivalent) is beneficial.
