A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Assets Delivery Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing services environment.
The RoleKey purpose of the role is toprepare estimates, tender documents, and final accounts to deliver housing investment programmes. This includes liaison with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure construction-related activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with legislation.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Preparation of budget estimates and detailed cost plansWriting tender specifications and issuing documentation via electronic portalsEvaluation and negotiation of submitted tendersMonthly cost forecasting and financial reportingSettlement of final accounts and contract variationsAdvising on all financial matters relating to construction and environmental schemeThe Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
HND in a relevant construction-related disciplineMinimum of 3 years’ post-qualification Quantity Surveying experienceFull UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for site visitsThe below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Membership of RICS, CIOB, or a Degree in Building SurveyingUnderstanding of local authority procedures and housing legislationStrong communication and negotiation skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic tendering systemsThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £450 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £360 per day PAYE).
