Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Birmingham Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Exciting Opportunity - Project Quantity Surveyor (Birmingham) An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor on a major £50million multi-room development in Birmingham. This is a long-term project with a strong pipeline of new schemes on the horizon, offering fantastic career progression and stability.
Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Negotiation - Managing subcontractor and supplier packages, negotiating contracts, and ensuring best value. Cost Management - Monitoring project costs, forecasting, and ensuring budgetary control. Contract Administration - Managing JCT contract processes, valuations, variations, and change control. Collaboration - Working closely with operations, design, and commercial teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Reporting & Risk Management - Providing accurate financial reports and identifying risks/opportunities within the project. Project Support - Assisting with project planning, cash flow forecasting, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. What We're Looking For: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within large residential, multi-room, or commercial projects. Strong procurement and negotiation skills, with a track record of securing best-value contracts. Experience working with operations and design teams to drive project success. Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of JCT contracts. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
