Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Aberdeen-based Asset Management team on a permanent basis, delivering financial and commercial aspects of water industry projects and frameworks. You will work with an established team to manage contract performance and value across portfolios.

Occasional travel to Inverness is required; you will review scopes, prepare BOQ, payments, variations, and final accounts, while ensuring robust financial reporting and

Qualifications

  • RICS qualification or equivalent in Surveying, Construction, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for Bills of Quantities.
  • Experience in contract final accounts including valuations and variations.
  • Experience with NEC contracts is beneficial.
  • Good IT literacy with Excel; driving licence required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare activity schedules, BOQs and resource profiling.
  • Prepare applications for payment for submission to clients.
  • Review project scopes, notify and prepare variations as needed.
  • Sub-contract administration including valuations and final accounts.
  • Analyze commercial progress with the delivery team.
  • Prepare internal financial reconciliation and performance forecasts.
  • Negotiate final accounts with clients.

What Are We Looking For?

Our Asset Management team is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join us on a permanent basis to aid in the delivery of works to the Water industry, based in Aberdeen. Your role will involve working with an established team to manage and deliver the financial and commercial aspects of individual projects and larger portfolios of frameworks.

Please note with this position, you will be required to be visit the Inverness office on occasion.

Key Duties
  • Preparation of Activity Schedules, Bills of Quantities and Resource profiling.
  • Preparation of Applications for Payment for submission to Client(s).
  • Reviewing project work scopes, notifying, and preparing variations as necessary.
  • Sub-contract administration including developing sub-contract documents, reviewing, and agreeing valuations, managing variations, and negotiating final accounts.
  • Analysing the commercial progress of allocated projects working closely with the project delivery team.
  • Preparing internal reports such as financial reconciliation and anticipated project performance.
  • Negotiating final account with Client(s).
What Do You Need?
  • RICS recognised qualification or equivalent in one or more of the following – Surveying, Construction, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to allow the preparation of Bills of Quantities/Schedules of Rates and other such procurement documentation.
  • Experience in contract final accounts including valuations and variations required.
  • Experience in NEC contracts would be beneficial.
  • Good IT literacy with competency in Excel.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
