Job summary

RSE, a water treatment leader, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial delivery for projects in Scotland and the North of England. You will lead a team of surveyors, overseeing tendering, procurement strategies, and contract administration through to completion.

You will set commercial strategies, manage cost/value reconciliations, and deliver detailed reports for clients. NEC contract familiarity is a plus, and a UK driving license is expected. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in setting and agreeing commercial strategies.
• Experience in cost/value reconciliation and reporting.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Pre-award activities including tender reviews, risk/value analysis and procurement strategy advice.
• Manage a portfolio of projects and frameworks from tender to completion with commercial oversight.
• Prepare and analyse framework-wide commercial reports for internal and client use.
• Track payment status of projects and programmes/frameworks.
• Notify Managing QS of performance, risks and opportunities; carry out related duties.

What Are We Looking For?

Due to continued growth, our Chemical & Wastewater Solutions team is seeking a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of projects for Scotland and the North of England within the Water industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the creation of market-leading chemical dosing solutions, that are bringing water to life.

This role will involve managing and overseeing contractual, financial, and commercial activities of the Company’s projects and frameworks. You’ll lead a team of experienced surveyors, ensuring best practice is followed and key deliverables are met.

Some Of Your Key Duties Include

• Involvement in pre-award activities such as tender reviews, risk/value analysis and evaluation as well as advising on procurement strategies.
• Running of specific portfolio of projects and frameworks, incorporating all facets of commercial/contractual administration and liaison from pre-award and invitation to tender stage through to completion.
• Preparation, development, and analysis of framework wide commercial reports both internally and for the Client(s).
• Tracking the payment status of projects and programmes/frameworks.
• Notifying the Managing QS of individual project and wider programme/framework performance and expectations whilst identifying risks and opportunities as they may materialise.
• Carry out all other tasks as requested within the post holder’s appropriate skill set.

What Do You Need?

• RICS recognised qualification (or equivalent) in one or more of the following – Surveying, Construction, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering.
• Previous proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Experience of setting and agreeing commercial strategies, procurement, cost/value reconciliation/reporting, project management, negotiation and settlement of accounts, negotiation, and settlement of claims.
• Experience in NEC contracts would be beneficial.
• Ability to delegate to and manage a team of commercial staff.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Full UK Driving Licence
