A reputed construction firm in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Quantity Surveying apprentice. The role involves hands-on support for multi-million-pound construction projects, assisting with cost control, financial reporting, and contract management. You will participate in a structured apprenticeship program leading to a professional qualification with the CIOB, and gain experience while being part of a skilled workforce. Ideal candidates will possess GCSEs, strong communication, and problem-solving skills. Competitive benefits await successful apprentices.
Join us as a Quantity Surveying apprentice and from day one you will be working with an experienced team and will be able to make an instant contribution to running a multi‑million‑pound project. Looking after the technical, organising, and supervising side of construction projects, quantity surveyors are the construction professionals who make up our commercial management team. As a quantity surveying apprentice, you will work predominantly on site, supporting the delivery of projects and learning from experienced professionals.
Our 5‑year technical apprenticeship starts at Level 4, where you will work towards a Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4) in Quantity Surveying and an HNC. You will also work towards a professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). The programme includes a university‑style experience while getting paid, with 9 weeks in Leeds each year (hotel accommodation and travel paid).
After completing the Level 4 apprenticeship you will receive a promotion and the opportunity to progress to our 3‑year Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, gain a full honours degree, and work towards chartered membership of the CIOB.
After completing the full 5‑year programme with BAM, most apprentices have their full degree, relevant professional membership, and earn in excess of £30,000 + a company car or allowance.
We offer online discount platform, volunteering days, wellbeing days, generous holiday allowance, holiday purchase scheme, EAP (Employee Assistance Programme), and a mental health and wellbeing programme.
Building a sustainable tomorrow is our mission and promise at BAM. We are proud to be an award‑winning employer, recognized as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer and recipient of multiple diversity awards.
We strive to create an environment where everybody feels welcome and valued. We employ talent regardless of social background, race, colour, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability or other characteristics.
