Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior traders, technologists, and researchers to develop trading strategies on the trading desk.
  • Identify and research market projects using advanced analytic tools.
  • Work on macroeconomic data curation and apply machine learning to market tick data for automated trading.
  • Take responsibility for position tracking, risk calculation, and analysis of theoretical values.

Job description

Quantitative Trading Analyst Intern will gain exposure to the dynamic worlds of trading and technology in order to learn what it takes to become a successful and sustainable trader. The assignment will involve a small team combining technology, research, and risk management to identify optimal trading and investment strategies within the regulatory framework through a series of project-based assignments. At the conclusion of 10 weeks, the intern will have the opportunity to present results to senior leadership at DRW. While the daily work focuses on complex quantitative trading projects, evening activities provide a chance to explore the city and experience life in London.

How you will make an impact…
  • Collaborate with senior traders, technologists, and quantitative researchers by developing and improving trading strategies directly on the trading desk
  • Identify and research cutting-edge market research projects using powerful analytic tools
  • Work on projects that range from macroeconomic data curation and analysis to applying machine learning techniques to market tick data for automated trading
  • Take immediate responsibility through assignments such as position tracking, risk calculation, and analysis of vital theoretical values
What you bring to the team…
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in mathematics, economics, physics, statistics, computer science, or an engineering‑related field with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
  • Advanced quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to deploy those skills under time‑sensitive situations
  • Proficient programming in Python
  • Self‑motivated, enjoy challenges and significant responsibility, and thrive in fast‑paced, competitive environments
  • A passion for the financial markets and a deep curiosity to explore new methodologies
  • Strong communication skills to advocate ideas clearly and concisely to the group
