Job summary

Stanford Black Limited is seeking a senior software engineer to sit directly with quantitative researchers in London. You will transform mathematical ideas into production-ready software, embedded within a research-driven environment where technology is the core of the research process.

You will work on platforms for daily quant research, back-testing, simulations, and real-time tooling, building scalable systems with a track record of end-to-end delivery and strong academic credentials.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Python, C++, or Rust (fluency)
• Strong grasp of algorithms, data structures and systems performance
• Track record of end-to-end software development
• Curiosity to explore ideas outside own discipline
• Strong academic background in a top-tier CS/Engineering/Math/Physics program
• 5+ years of experience

Responsibilities

• Work with quantitative researchers embedding engineering to turn ideas into production systems
• Develop research platforms and back-testing/simulation tooling
• Contribute to portfolio optimisation and real-time research tooling
• Productionise mathematical models from prototype to live trading
• Tackle distributed computing and large-scale compute infrastructure
• Engage in performance engineering at a high level
