Quantitative Analyst

  • Annual Salary: 45,000 - 55,000

Join our Research & Analysis Team as a Quantitative Analyst and play a pivotal role in supporting our analytical, modelling, and research capabilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our core mandate by delivering high-quality quantitative analysis to support debt management policy, market operations, and strategic decision-making.



Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and maintain models related to the bond market, interest rates, and broader macroeconomic trends.
  • Design and conduct empirical research, analyse large datasets, and produce rigorous insights to inform both internal discussions and external communications.
  • Collaborate across teams, contribute to broader research agendas, and engage with senior stakeholders, by providing clear and impactful analysis.
  • Assist in the specification and testing of enhancements to operational systems, analytical tools, and models.
  • Manipulate and analyse multiple datasets for the evaluation of auctions and bond syndications.
  • Respond to technical queries from external stakeholders.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A good degree (1st or 2:1) in a numerical discipline (e.g., maths, physics, statistics, engineering) or quantitative finance, plus either a postgraduate degree in a numerical discipline or relevant work experience in an analytical role.
  • Proficiency in one programming language, ideally Python and/or Matlab, as well as Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and economics.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyse complex data from a wide range of sources.
  • Experience using mathematical and statistical techniques for problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
