Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc is seeking a Quantexa Lead Developer to oversee and guide a global technical team. You will participate in solution design, drive production-grade data solutions, and balance long-term best practices with hands-on development across multiple regions.

Ideal candidates will have extensive data engineering experience, strong communication, and a track record of leading teams in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical development background with data engineering experience and team leadership.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to represent the platform in senior meetings.
• Excellent communication, able to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
• Practitioner of Agile & DevOps.
• Proficiency in Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Python.
• Experience building production-grade data solutions maintained by support teams.
• Knowledge of CDP 7.1, HDFS, Unix, Unix Shell Scripting, Elasticsearch.
• Experience in understanding complex business requirements and system design.
• Quantexa Data Engineering Certification.
• Experience with managed services AWS EKS, Azure EKS.
• Experience in Angular.
• Microservices (OCP, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the day-to-day activities of the technical team.
• Contribute to solution design and implementation of changes.
• Balance pragmatism with long-term best practices while hands-on development.
• Coordinate with architects and other teams across regions.
• Support on-call and shift requirements.
