Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) concentrates Deutsche Bank’s quantitative and modelling expertise within a single unit. With group-wide responsibility for model development, GSA takes a cross-business and cross-functional approach to solving quantitative modelling and analytics challenges and rolls out common development standards.

GSA is part of the Group Chief Operating Office (COO), which acts as the bridge between the Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.

You will join the Risk Strats unit within GSA, specifically in the Valuation Control Strats group, which delivers applications that solve quantitative problems across Deutsche Bank, covering IPV, Observability and Levelling, Prudent Valuation, and Fair Value reserves.

The design, specification, and implementation are the responsibilities of Strats, in close partnership with Trading, Sales, Middle Office, and Technology groups.

Your key responsibilities

  • Analysis, design, and development of front-to-back functionality in C++ and Python, focusing on valuation controls such as IPV, observability, levelling, and fair value reserves
  • Re-engineering platform analytics and tooling to improve valuation control processes
  • Collaborating with Trading, Sales, and Risk teams to define practical and compliant methodologies
  • Developing frameworks and workflows in C++ and Python for governance and monitoring
  • Creating regulatory-compliant documentation for models and changes

Your skills and experience

  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming in Python and/or C++
  • Experience with tools for delivering robust applications, including source control and testing
  • Knowledge of cross-asset derivatives and valuation control topics is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a quantitative background
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex details
