Quant Researcher PhD London to £175k+

Are you a PhD educated Quant Researcher within the commodities trading space?

You could be progressing your career whilst earning significant bonuses at a specialised commodities trading firm.

As a Quant Researcher you'll focus on researching and developing predictive pricing quantitative data models that are used to forecast elements of demand and supply for energy in European markets, including weather and seasonal variations. You'll be working with a Python tech stack and collaborating with software engineers to put your designs into production.

Location:

You'll join colleagues in the London office on a fulltime basis (reducing to four days a week past probation).

About you:

  • You have an excellent academic record of achievement; 2.1 or above at BSc, and have studied to PhD level at a top tier university in a relevant discipline e.g. Advanced Mathematics, Probability, Statistical Patterns
  • You have commercial experience in a similar Quant Researcher role within a commodities trading environment
  • You have Python coding skills and a good knowledge of Python libraires such as PySpark, NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn
  • You have strong SQL skills
  • You're comfortable working with large data sets and statistics
  • You have a good appreciation of data science techniques
  • You have experience of implementing highly scalable, performant, low latency solutions
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
