Our clients are largely institutions, including pension funds, charities, foundations, endowments, and family offices.

Record’s offices are in London, Zürich, New York, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. The relevant team are based in the London office.

What does the Quantitative Research team do:

  • This team’s output is a critical component of the ongoing success of Record Currency Management.
  • This hire is a vital component of the team, generating and testing salient investment ideas in currency management strategies.

The successful candidate:

  • Will have enjoyed a successful academic career at Masters level or above in a STEM discipline, with a sound background knowledge of mathematics and statistics.

  • Fluent in Python 3.11+, the standard library, and external libraries like numpy, pandas, matplotlib, and scikit-learn.
  • Confident in SQL Server or similar; experience with Azure and Docker is a positive.
  • An understanding of machine learning processes and their applications to investments. Ideally, they will be familiar with various algorithms (logistic regression, neural networks) and an understanding of how to implement these in Python.
  • A passion for bringing together investment ideas in an organized framework with the ability to enthuse others.
  • A critical thinker who can synthesize an argument and deal constructively with differing views.

And finally..

  • We are keen to hear from candidates who follow global financial markets closely and enjoy testing out investment ideas and developing them for a challenging audience.
  • Our model of quant research is very investment-focused and may not interest quants from a risk or trading background.
  • Our role would suit an individual who would appreciate the opportunity to deepen their focus on currency markets and make an impact in a boutique investment business.

Benefits:

  • Bonus scheme - paid twice a year (usually November & June).
  • Pension – defined contribution scheme: 11% employer contribution plus may elect for additional personal contributions. Some cash flexibility allowed.
  • Study support for further qualifications. Full support and training from the company and the team.
