Job summary

Tempest Vane Partners seeks a Quant Data Engineering & AI Engineer to join a collaborative team at the intersection of quantitative research, data engineering and AI. You’ll design and build high-throughput data pipelines and AI-enabled tools that support portfolio decision-making.

You will deploy production AI systems, work with TB-scale datasets, and partner with Portfolio Managers and Researchers to uncover alpha opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong Python in large-scale production environments.
• Background in Data Engineering, ML or Quantitative Engineering.
• Experience building distributed data pipelines and large datasets.
• Commercial experience with AI tech, incl. LLMs and RAG.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Strong software engineering practices and production systems.
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-throughput data pipelines for quantitative strategies.
• Build scalable data platforms for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop AI-enabled tooling to extract insights from large corpora.
• Deploy and optimise LLMs and ML models in production.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Researchers and Data Scientists.
• Evaluate AI and quantitative research improvements across the stack.
• Contribute to cloud, data and AI infrastructure decisions.
