Job summary

Diageo's Runcorn Packaging site seeks a Quality Technician to perform QC analyses within production teams, calibrate instruments, and ensure data accuracy in SAP and Harford. You will support audits, manage related stocks, and help implement new QC methods while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and compliance.

The role focuses on monitoring KPI targets, enabling continuous improvement, and collaborating with shift teams to sustain product quality and process control across the site.

Qualifications

• Science qualification to at least HNC.
• Strong analytical techniques.
• Experience with SAP.
• Basic lab and on-line inspection instrumentation.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems, HACCP, ISO9001.
• Knowledge of statistical process control.
• Thorough attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality control analysis within production teams to support delivery against KPI targets.
• Carry out routine calibration of instrumentation and cleaning/maintenance as required.
• Ensure accurate results of complex analysis are entered into SAP and Harford in a timely manner.
• Maintain stocks of laboratory chemicals, disposables and consumables.
• Support the setup and implementation of new methods.
• Conduct routine Process Control audits to confirm QC compliance.
• Make information and records available to support problem solving and improvement activities.
• Respond to out-of-specification results for components and packaged beer.
• Recognise faults and fault trends and help identify solutions.
• Complete quality audits.
• Work with Team Managers, Production Co-ordinators, Shift Operators and Compliance teams.
