Overview

Quality Engineer - Plastic & Rubber Manufacturing. Shifts: Monday-Thursday 8:00-17:00, Friday 8:00-13:00. NO WEEKEND WORK. Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire. Onsite role. Salary: £36,000-£38,000.

Responsibilities
  • Lead quality assurance processes, ensuring products meet industry and customer standards. Manage customer returns, analysing root causes and preventing recurrence.
  • Lead problem solving activities using industry standard methodologies: 8D, 5 Why, 3C, DMAIC, Ishikawa diagrams, FMEA.
  • Liaise with internal departments such as production and management to address quality issues. Measurements of parts will be key using a variety of skills and tools.
  • Perform inspections, audits (including third-party audits) and testing on plastic and rubber components.
  • Coordinate document control specifications, standards, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience working with automotive customer quality systems and understanding customer requirements.
  • Bachelor/Master's degree with a technical focus or time served in a comparable role.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Understanding of quality tools and techniques (8D, Lean, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, etc.).
  • Experience in rubber & plastic injection moulding industry would be an advantage.
