Under close supervision, the Quality Control Technician conducts internal quality controls to ensure adherence to established quality procedures and standards. Responsibilities include routine quality analysis, testing, inspections, and monitoring for inconsistencies. The role involves preparing quality analysis reports, recommending procedural improvements, and analyzing customer claims. This is a learning role suitable for individuals with 1-2 years of experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas, and collaborate with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  2. Select products for testing at specified production stages and evaluate qualities such as dimensions, performance, and aesthetic characteristics.
  3. Record test data and apply statistical quality control procedures.
  4. Analyze data and prepare reports to identify deviations from standards.
  5. Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to optimize quality within equipment capabilities.
  6. Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products.
  7. Audit supplier quality against specifications and maintain records.
  8. Audit shipments for conformance to standards and quality plans, identify defective materials, and recommend corrective actions.
  9. Maintain gauge and tooling calibration following policies and procedures.
  10. Audit process areas for workmanship quality, specification conformance, and adherence to quality plans.
  11. Assist QA team and production departments to ensure efficient operations, ISO 9000 compliance, and continuous improvement.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Certificate from a technical school preferred.
  • ASQC certification or 6 months to 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, decimals, and fractions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking before groups.
