Job description

The Quality Technician is responsible for the initial logging and testing of customer returns and assisting failure analysis engineers in investigating the root causes of failures. This involves using electrical and physical failure analysis equipment and documenting the results. As part of the Quality Team, they will highlight and suggest improvements to the failure analysis process and documentation.

General Responsibilities
  1. Provide administrative support to failure analysis and quality, including logging customer returns and initial reporting.
  2. Operate and maintain, where applicable, test equipment and laboratory failure analysis equipment to support department activities.
  3. Carry out initial measurements of the electrical and visual characteristics of customer returns.
  4. Perform QA control testing on products according to defined test conditions and instructions, including visual checks.
  5. Complete quality and performance testing of production or developmental ASICs.
  6. Control and store records for later use, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
  7. Assist Failure Analysis Engineers in reporting and investigating failures.
  8. Highlight and recommend improvements to the failure analysis process and documentation.
  9. Support the safe operation of the failure analysis lab as part of the Quality Team and in conjunction with Failure Analysis Engineers.
Experience / Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  2. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
  3. Strong communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation abilities.
  4. Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills.
  5. Strong ethical values and integrity.
  6. Self-accountability for achieving goals and standards.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  8. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with all organizational levels, suppliers, and external customers.
