Job description

About the Role

This role will lead the day-to-day management of Goods Inwards Inspection and Finished product inspections (post FAT). It also focuses on leading the NCR process for internal and supplier rejects and supports the quality engineer with data to drive corrective actions.

The role additionally supports the Quality Engineer in departmental activities including calibration, reworks, audits, stock checks, and First Pass Yield.

Primary Responsibilities for this role include:

  1. Management of non-conforming components and assemblies.
  2. Performing investigations and developing corrective and preventative actions.
  3. Performing QC checks and inspections on production items throughout the manufacturing process.
  4. Managing goods-inwards inspections on components and assemblies (e.g., mechanical and electronics).
  5. Supporting the creation and ongoing administration of the supplier management processes.
  6. Assisting in creation and administration of calibration management system.
  7. Conducting root cause analysis, 8D reports, SCARs (fishbone diagram, 5WHY's, etc.).
  8. Supporting the Quality Department in relevant quality tasks including internal audits, procedure preparation, and investigations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum GCSE Level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within mechanical/electronic fields preferred.
  • Primary optical experience is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use basic metrology equipment.
  • Quick learner with a keen eye for detail.
  • Organised and structured approach to work.
  • Compliance with standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to build relationships.
